Select a piece to move/attack
or buy a new piece to deploy
Welcome! You start with a cool $1300 to recruit your initial squad. Feel free to arrange them anywhere inside your glowing deployment rows to set your starting strategy.
Once the real battle kicks off, your action economy gets a fun twist. On each turn, you choose whether to move/attack with a piece on the board OR buy and deploy a brand-new unit from the shop.
Keep in mind that fresh recruits need a moment to settle in! They are frozen on their placement turn, meaning they can't move or attack until your next turn rolls around.
Bonus for your war chest: you get a sweet passive income allowance of +$100 gold at the start of every single battle turn to fund your future reinforcements.
The entire map is wrapped in a mysterious darkness! You only have vision over squares that fall directly within the sight lines of your active, living pieces.
Knights are your ultimate scouts, packing an awesome 2-square vision range to peer deeper into the dark. Everyone else—from Pawns to the Queen—keeps it cozy with a tight 1-square view.
Sneaky enemy pieces hiding in the fog are completely invisible. You won't see them moving or setting up defense lines until you step close enough to light up the tile.
Traditional check rules get a clever upgrade. A "Check" warning only triggers if the attacking piece is visible in your fog, or if the enemy has a direct line-of-sight on your King.
Watch your step when zooming across the board! If a sliding piece (Rook, Bishop, Queen) tries to make a long move through the fog and bumps into a hidden enemy, it gets ambushed, stops right there, and forfeits its turn.
Plot twist—you actually start the game without a King! Your royal leader automatically deploys onto a random open tile in your home zone on Turn 5. Guard them tightly, because if your King falls, it's instant game over.
Gathering a friend for a local match? You can play a full multiplayer game synchronously on the exact same device by simply passing it back and forth between player turns.
When your plays are done, just click the "End Turn" button to completely blind the screen and hide your layout. Hand the device over to your opponent, and honor the system—no peeking while they scheme!
